William Henry Harrison, (born February 9, , Charles City county, Virginia [U.S.]—died April 4, , Washington, D.C., U.S.), ninth president of the United States (), whose Indian campaigns, while he was a territorial governor and army officer, thrust him into the national limelight and led to his election in He was the oldest. The story ope.

The first of two biographies of Harrison I read was the classic “Old Tippecanoe: William Henry Harrison and His Time” by Freeman Cleaves. This is “old faithful” of the WHH biographies and seems unlikely to be overtaken by a newer, flashier biography of the barely-remembered ninth president anytime soon. User Review - Flag as inappropriate Old Tippecanoe travels chronologically through the life of our ninth president. It is a slog: the bulk of the book is spent on Harrison's battles against the Indians, but restricts itself to a dreary accounting of events rather than putting those events into context or speculating on how they might have shaped Harrison's personality.1/5(1).

The Young Patriots book series by multiple authors includes books Young Air Pioneer, William Henry Harrison: Young Tippecanoe, Juliette Low, Girl Scout (Childhood of Famous Americans), and several more. See the complete Young Patriots series book list in order, box sets or omnibus editions, and companion titles.
